Special Report: Spreading the Word of Pod

”˜Professor’ Goetsch gave an informal presentation entitled ”˜Spreading the Word of Pod: Getting More People to Listen to Podcasts’ on September 27, 2007, at Podcamp SoCal in Ontario, California. Here are some of the suggestions people had for bringing podcasting to a wider audience.
- Subscribe them to podcasts through TiVo
- Establish links back to your podcast through Yahoo! Answers
- Use PodcastSender to send download links to any podcast by e-mail
- Hold podcast parties: invite friends for a demonstration of how to listen to podcasts
- Have them call in to listen to your podcast using Phonecasting
- Send podcast episodes via cell phone with FoneShow
- Take out pay-per-click ads that point people to your podcast blog
- Interview well-known bloggers and journalists on your show: they’ll do some of the promotion for you
- Set up smart playlists for your friends and family
