About Us

Founded in 2005 by Lee Hopkins and Sallie Goetsch, the Podcast Asylum is a collaborative network of experienced podcast and blog consultants.

Below you will find a brief description of each member of the network, and ways to contact them.

‘Professor’ Lee Hopkins

Based in Adelaide, Australia, Lee is one of Australia’s leading thinkers and practitioners around communication strategy in an online environment. His own successful podcast, ‘Better Communication Results’ attracts hundreds of downloads each episode and his blog is widely respected and read on the internet.

Lee also operates the Better Desirable Roasted Communications Cafe with Allan Jenkins, when not researching business how-to in Second Life.

Contact Lee either by email or via this website.

‘Professor’ Sallie Goetsch (rhymes with ‘sketch’)

As co-founder of the Podcast Asylum, Author-izer Sallie Goetsch (rhymes with ‘sketch’) writes and speaks about podcasting from the listener’s perspective. She started ‘smoking the podcast dope’ in April 2005 and immediately contracted a bad case of Earbud Isolationism, using podcasting to make connections and attract prospects from around the world without recording her own podcast. She works tirelessly to cure the epidemic of Podcastus Ignoramus among business owners.

A natural-born pedant, Sallie translated Greek and Roman drama for the stage and taught at the University of Warwick in England before moving to Northern California to start her own business turning busy professionals into authors.

If you want to turn podcasting to your advantage but aren’t sure you’re ready to start your own podcast, check out Sallie’s ‘Joining the Conversation’ package.

‘Professor’ Donna Papacosta

Donna Papacosta is a skilled writer, editor, workshop leader, and podcaster with more than 20 years of experience. A native of New York City now based in the Greater Toronto area, Donna works with major corporations, mid-sized businesses, governments, and non-profit organizations in Canada and the U.S. With a background in systems analysis and journalism, she’s always been comfortable with both technology and the written word. A stint doing corporate voiceovers led to her fascination with audio.

Around the same time, podcasting came along and Donna saw a terrific opportunity to help organizations use this medium to communicate more effectively with clients, prospects, employees, and other stakeholders. She produces the popular business show, the Trafcom News Podcast, runs a Podcast Bootcamp, and leads free webinars on podcasting.

Talk to Donna about integrating the power of the human voice into your communications efforts while staying sane in the process! Contact her by email or through her website.
