There are so many podcasts out there that it’s hard to decide what to listen to. ‘Professor’ Goetsch asked podcasters which episodes of their own or other podcasts they’d recommend to someone who was new to podcasting. Here are the results of that survey.

Show 35 - Seth Godin interview - think this is good for general business people
Show 46 - Mark Sanborn on Customer Service - another good general one, on a subject that most people can connect with.
Show 52 Mitch Joel on Personal Branding - again a show that would be applicable to all
My issue is that there is a special place in my heart for each one I produce.

I don’t yet have my podcast out really. Well, episode 0 has been released, and we’re recording the next few later this week. So for now, I don’t have anything of my own to recommend.
I’d happily recommend the 10/6 and 10/3 episodes of Geek Entertainment TV in which they feature Yahoo! hack day and the Beck concert.

I think for a “newbie” show #14, “What Makes a Good Podcast?” might be educational and entertaining.
David Van Nuys (Shrink Rap Radio)
One of my favorite episodes of my show, Shrink Rap Radio, is #50. Noted author and workshop leader, Bill O’Hanlon is interviwed about the work of Milton Erickson, as well as his own Solution-Oriented Therapy.
Donna Papacosta (The Trafcom News Podcast)
I think I’d have to pick Show #35: Podcasting is NOT about technology.
Doug Price (The Radio Adventures of Doctor Floyd)
I would have to pick #414 and #415 (two part episode). I think it’s one of the funniest episodes and it stars Don Novello (Father Guido Sarducci) as one of my favorite historic figures, Gallileo.
Eric Schwartzman (On the Record…Online)
For me, I like the interview with Ken Auletta.
I like others from other podcasters as well, but it’s tough to say which episodes in particular. So many people want a quick answer to these types of questions. But real knowledge is not easily conveyed in a soundbite. Which is why FIR is hefty but good.
Greg Galant (Venture Voice Podcast)
Greg Galant of the Venture Voice podcast picked his interview with John Bogle of the Vanguard Group for his favorite episode.
Heidi Miller (Diary of a Shameless Self-Promoter)
Tough call! Well, DSSP 62 and DSSP 69 are pretty representative, with nice segment length and good listener feedback. I frequently refer to Donna Papacosta’s podcast on the three most important letters in podcasting (Y-O-U) in my seminars, so that might be a good one to pass on as well!
John Valines (Radio Rickshaw)
Here is a good sample episode of Radio Rickshaw, I’ll give you the direct link to the file: Radio Rickshaw Episode 33—Don vs. World.
I also produce two other podcasts, The Heart of Darkness Comedy Podcast and the Toxic Audio unOfficial Podcast.

For favorites from my own show, Sonitotum, I’d recommend Episode Two: A Grief Delayed.It’s a very personal one, and really hits what I want Sonitotum to be, which is a conversation between me and my closest anonymous friend.
Faves from other people’s shows? Holy moley. There haven’t been any in recent memory that really leap out at me, but of the many shows I subscribe to, these are the ones I actually actively listen to:

For folks just learning about podcasting from a business perspective, I would start from the start—Episode #1, Business Podcasting and the Big Question. Episode #2 frames the business argument for podcasting nicely as well.
